In most cases universities will accept you on passing a resit.
However, you may find it difficult applying for particularly competitive universities / courses with resit grades, so as a first step ring the admissions officer at that university to check whether they would consider your resit grades.
Do universities accept retakes?
Reality: Retakes within two years of Sixth Form are generally fine, although policies on Year 14 retakes can vary. Reality: Some universities, for some courses – usually medicine – will not accept an A level which was completed in Year 12 as one of the grades required for your offer.

The exam boards offer very few subjects these days. At MPW Cambridge we now only offer full-year GCSE courses. Students who have previously sat GCSE exams will typically transfer to MPW’s preferred exam board and take the full suite of units that are available.
